Trento named Italy’s top city for quality of life
November 2019

Trento has been named the most liveable Italian province for 2019: the Autonomous Province of Trento confirms itself as the best region in Italy for living and working according to the annual ranking drawn up by ItaliaOggi, an economic, legal and political newspaper.

Trentino’s leadership is more significant in 2019, as the quality of life in Italy increased: the quality of life is good or acceptable in 65 Italian provinces out of 107, compared to 53 in 2015. The top position reflects the excellent performances in key areas such as  businesses and jobs, education, vocational training and leisure.

The annual survey of ItaliaOggi and Università La Sapienza di Roma, carried out in cooperation with Cattolica Assicurazioni, adopts a cross-cutting approach in order to frame the Italian provinces with the utmost uniformity. The  2019 edition includes more detailed statistical information on living standards, the dimension “financial and education services” was replaced by "education, training and human capital" and new analysis clusters were identified.

These are the results of the twenty-first edition of the ItaliaOggi survey: Trento at the top, followed by another 9 provinces in Northern Italy with the clear predominance of small and medium-sized provinces over metropolitan ones.
