The 2019 edition of THE SPOT, ThinkSport’s international sport and innovation event, is about to start

From 28 to 29 may an italian sport-tech representative will be in Svitzerland for TheSpot2019 under the guidance of Trentino Sviluppo, the official coordinator for “The House of Italy”.

The Spot is the leading international conference on sport and innovation organized by ThinkSport the first network that brings together the variety of sports-related expertise and excellence in Lausanne, the olymic city.

The two days in Switzerland will be the opportunity to meet many European sport-related organisations and projects around sport and innovation themes.  Italy will be present with “House of Italy”, the national stand whose aim is to promote the "Made in Italy" brand and to raise the profile of the partner involved.

We are delighted to announce that the italian representative will be headed by Trentino Sviluppo, choosen by ThinkSport as official coordinator for “The House Of Italy”.

The leading role within the international sport-tech environment is closely connected with the the development of what is called the “Trentino’s sport-innovation system”. The region of Trento, with its wonderful locations for winter and summer sports and its commitment to innovation has been active for years in promoting initiatives and activities related to sport-tech capable of spreading the benefits to all sections of society.

What to expect from THE SPOT: Check out the Internation Startup Battle

THE SPOT will feature a Marketplace and Demo Zone, where participants will be able to present and discover brand new products and solutions with changing stands every day; a conference programme in untraditional format; and numerous networking opportunities.

One of the biggest hit in the 2018 edition of The Spot was The start-up battle and in the 2019 edition the competition will be even harder. Operated by Venturelab, the battle will feature 40 pre-selected young companies which will go toe-to-toe during four different rounds on the first day. Each session will spawn one winner who will then move on to the final, to be held on the second day. The jury will be made up of experts from the academic, business and sports world and Trentino Sviluppo will be one of them.  The incentives for the competing young entrepreneurs include prestige, prize money and potential collaboration opportunities with the Award Partners.

A separate discovery battle will offer a platform for early stage start-ups to pitch their innovative ideas in front of experts.
