Trentino Sviluppo is a company established by the Autonomous Province of Trento to foster the sustainable growth of the “Trentino system” by developing actions and services aimed at supporting the creation of new entrepreneurial and innovation projects and supporting collaboration between companies and the development of strategic supply chains and clusters for the territory.
The Trentino Sviluppo Internationalization Area supports local companies in their internationalization process, through the development of specific skills related to the approach to foreign markets and the establishment of new business relationships with new potential foreign clients. The Autonomous Province of Trento is one of the two provinces that belong to Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol region. Its capital is the town of Trento. The province has an area of 6,208 km² (2396.54 sq. miles) and a total population of 539,898 (Eurostat, 2019). The region is renowned for the Dolomites, which are part of the Alps. The regional innovation system is well developed and interconnected. It is characterised by strong public components (universities, research institutes and foundations).
The strategy for territorial development is based on three key factors: research, training and innovation. These key words translate in projects that have made the Trentino innovation ecosystem a national and international point of reference. This is realized mainly through the creation of synergies among the Provincial government, the territorial education system, research organisations and industry.
It is a prestigious institution which over the years has achieved many important goals at international level delivering a range of education, training and technology transfer programs in the fields of agriculture, food processing and sustainable development.
This small agricultural centre is located in the town of San Michele all’Adige, just 16 km to the north of Trento. It consists of about 70 hectares of land and a 14-hectare campus hosting school facilities greenhouses, laboratories and offices.
